Dr. Kirt Patel

Dr. Kirt Patel is a board certified Therapeutic Optometrist and Glaucoma Specialist, clinically trained to diagnose, treat and manage ocular infections and diseases. His professional areas of interest include specialty contact lens fitting, pediatrics, glaucoma, diabetic eye disease, cataract & LASIK co-management, and Computer Vision Syndrome.

Dr. Patel is originally from Philadelphia, PA. He completed his Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology from LaSalle University. Dr. Patel then attended the Inter-American University of Puerto Rico School of Optometry and graduated in 2004 becoming National Board Certified in Ocular Disease.

While in school, he received the award for Clinical Excellence Award from Alcon as well as essay contest awards from Essilor and Alcon. Dr. Patel was president of the National Optometric Student Association (NOSA).

Dr. Patel furthered his skills and knowledge by doing a Residency in Ocular Disease at the highly accredited Omni Eye Surgery in New Jersey and Manhattan working with Ophthalmologists specializing in Glaucoma, Corneal and Retinal Diseases, and Neuro-Opthalmology.

Following his residency, Dr. Patel moved to Dallas, and became an Optometric Glaucoma Specialist gaining extensive experience in the evaluation and treatment of glaucoma as well as Diabetic eye care management. Dr. Patel has also become proficient in Routine Eye Exams, Contact Lens Exams/ Fittings and Cataract and Lasik co-management.

In 2010, he was named Professional of the year representing Optometry by Cambridge Who’s Who. And in 2011, Dr. Patel was selected to be a Board Examiner for part 3 National Boards. Dr. Patel is credentialed on most medical and vision insurance plans and is Fluent in English, Spanish, and Hindi
